ARWU Ranking by Subject: Update

Last Tuesday, 17th July, the ARWU (Academic Ranking of World Universities) ranking by subject was updated.
This last edition confirms that the best Portuguese rank is achieved in the area of Maritime Engineering, in which the University of Lisbon (UL) reaches the fourth place at world level (down one position regarding the previous year), as a result of the work developed by the Naval Engineering of the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST). Instituto Superior Técnico of the University of Lisbon holds also the highest national score in civil engineering, ranked 45th world best in the Shanghai Ranking.
