ObservIST’s 4th Call Closed

The 4th ObservIST call ended on March 22 with the submission of 19 practices distributed by 7 of the established 11 thematic fields:

  • Higher Education
  • Internationalization
  • Communication
  • Infrastructure
  • Processes and Quality
  • Human Resources
  • Research, Development and Innovation

The submitted practices will be assessed by a panel of evaluators and afterwards a Meeting is planned for the dissemination of Best Practices identified in this 4th ObservIST call. Certificates will be attributed to the proponents of the practices evaluated as “Best Practices”.

This event, scheduled for June 25th, aims to promote the recognition and dissemination of the institution’s Best Practices within IST community.

 

ObservIST: Certifying Seal of Best Practices

In the fulfillment of ObservIST’s Mission, a certifying seal of Best Practices (BP) was created. The aim of this certifying seal is to set an additional evaluation format, an institutional added value and merit recognition, and an acknowledgment and encouragement of all those who submit Best Practices to ObservIST. The certifying seal may be posted in institutional documents or digital contents.

In the year 2016, the “AEPQ Management Practices” (in Portuguese) were recognized as a Best Practice in the area of Processes & Quality.

ObservIST: 4th Call and Survey

ObservIST, Tecnico Lisboa’s Observatory of Best Practices, keeps its 4th call open and available until the 22nd of March,  to anyone who wants to submit a Best Practice, ensuring the identification, consolidation, as well as the disclosure of internal processes and promoting valuable practices and their replication, fostering Tecnico Lisboa’s continuous improvement.

Projeto ROAD – Regional Objectives for Administrative Development

On 21 and 22 March 2017, IST received 20 international partners for the ROAD (Regional Objectives for Administrative Development) project kick-off meeting

This project, approved in 2016 under the ERASMUS + programme, aims at reinforcing capacities in local development strategies, through the training of civil servants of Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan.

European Observatory on Good Practices in University Strategic Management – EUSUM

Instituto Superior Técnico – IST, is involved as partner in a project in the field of  Strategic Management at the level of higher education institutions, entitled Strategic University Management: Unfolding Practices – SUMUP.

As part of the project, and with the purpose of promoting Good Practices in this area, through the collection and dissemination of successful initiatives, the European Observatory on Good Practices in University Strategic Management – EUSUM, was created.

A call for proposals on Good Practices in Strategic management is open until the end of May, which are related to:

• Financial Sustainability

• Social and Environmental Responsibility

• Human Resources

• Recognition and Reputation

• Quality Management

• Infrastructure and Equipment

• Internationalization

• Regional Involvement

At the end of the process, an international expert team will evaluate the proposals and validate those that meet the previosuly set criteria.  The Good Practices selected will be recognized and disseminated publicly based on the data provided by the abovementioned Observatory, and some of them may be presented by the respective proposing institutions by invitation of the project organization at an International Conference to be held in Barcelona, in September 2013.

The submission is simple, through a short summary of the Good Practice in an online  form. Further information on the project and evaluation criteria of the Good Practices may be obtained at the Observatory webpage.
